It was hot and breezy for the first day of summer, and 23 riders came out to test their mettle. In the 40k, Kyle May led us home with a 59:29 @ 25.02mph. Ed Eliott ran a solid 1:03:18 @ 23.51mph, and Jessica Aveyard knocked 3 1/2 minutes off of her PR with a nice 1:08:46 @ 21.64mph. I predict that we'll be handing out a pink sub-66 shirt before too long.

In the 20k, Eric McRae posted quick time with a 30:07 @ 24.70mph. We had another close posting in the 34 minute range as 4 riders came in within 4 seconds of each other.

On a side note, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Schroetlin family, as Jeff's father had a tragic, paralyzing accident while riding his bicycle recently. It's easy to take things for granted, like riding your bike, but none of us will be able to do this forever. Be safe out there.
